Zapptax offers some of the most competitive refund rates on the market, typically 15% to 25% higher than the average.
Refunds are based on a tiered system, the higher the total purchase amount, the higher the refund rate, with up to 90% of the VAT refunded.
On average, the Zapptax app refunds 85% of the VAT, compared to an industry average of around 70%.
A management fee of around 15% of the VAT is deducted directly from the refund amount.
Montant total achats (TTC) | Pourcentage TVA remboursée | Pourcentage remboursé vs. montant TTC |
<500 € | 72,5% | 12,08% |
500€ - 1.000€ | 77,5% | 12,92% |
1.000€ - 2.500€ | 80% | 13,33% |
2.500€ - 3.500€ | 85% | 14,17% |
>3.500€ | 90% | 15% |
Here’s an example to make it clearer
If my customer spends €1,200 (incl. VAT) during their trip, that equals a base price of €1,000 excl. VAT, with €200 VAT (based on a 20% rate, as in France).
At this purchase level, the applicable refund rate is 80%, so my customer would receive €160 back. In practice, most Zapptax users spend more than €1,250 across several stores, qualifying them for an even better refund rate of 85%.
